Scrapped Missile farming for upgrades

Quick answer

Scrapped Missile parts come from destroying enemy body parts. Arena rank 31 pays Missile TK, rank 38 pays Missile TK2, and Luck terminals raise the drop chance.

Scrapped Missile parts are synthesis materials, not weapons. They are the bottleneck in late-game gun building because the good custom parts need them, and they only come from destroying specific enemy body parts.

The four missile materials

ItemDescription on the item listUsed for
Scrapped Missile HP"This missile never made it to launch."Item synthesis
Scrapped Missile MS1Same family, different gradeItem synthesis
Scrapped Missile MS2Same family, different gradeItem synthesis
Scrapped Missile TKSame family, different gradeItem synthesis

They sit alongside the rest of the Scrapped family — Scrapped Arm, Scrapped Bazooka, Scrapped Gatling, Scrapped Vulcan — which is the game's way of saying "broken enemy hardware you can melt down".

How drops actually work

Two rules decide whether you get the part:

  1. Body parts. Destroying an enemy's body part rolls for an item drop, and the part destroyed decides what can drop. This is why the same enemy gives different materials depending on how you kill it.
  2. Drop chance, not guaranteed. The roll is modified by your terminal network — Luck, Mega Luck and Effect Amp — and by the Lucky Charm accessory. Rare drops only respond to Mega Luck and Effect Amp.

If you are farming a specific missile part and getting nothing, the first fix is not a better route, it is a better terminal network.

Community notes from the 2010 release also name the Missile Plough enemies in Patertopolis and the armoured tank enemies in the level 10 scrapyard as missile-part sources outside the Arena. Those routes are slower than a fixed Arena rank because you pay travel time on the hex map, but they do not charge an entry fee.

A farming routine that works

  1. Pick one rank and repeat it. Rank 38 for TK2, rank 31 for TK. Fixed groups mean a fixed loadout.
  2. Build the loadout around body-part destruction, not raw damage. Machine guns to open parts, handguns to convert.
  3. Power a Luck terminal first. A connected Luck or Mega Luck terminal is worth more than an extra five minutes of grinding.
  4. Sell the scrap you do not need. Scrap Bronze, Scrap Zinc and Scrap Brass drop alongside the missiles and fund the entry fees.
  5. Stop when the part you need is done. The Arena is a ruby sink; farming past the requirement is just donating.

Why bother

The late-game custom parts need synthesis materials, and the differences are real: a heavy barrel with high attack power, a sight with high charge speed, a grip that adds mount points. The gun customization page explains what each slot does and why charge speed and weight are the two stats that decide a build.
